Christianity & Gaming | Hard Truths

Most of you have seen my religious tweets over on X. I am a Christian, and was both saved and Baptized in my youth. That path I walked so narrowly back then has become wider, and more winding over the years, admittedly. I used to go to church and worship, but do so no longer. I used to listen to gospel music, and now that rarely ever happens. Even so I still pray to God, and believe in him. My faith remains, and in that faith exists a constant tug-of-war battle between good and evil. Like many Christians today I am still a sinner, though repentant. I am constantly asking God for forgiveness, and that is the only thing that gives me hope. The only thing that let's me know I'm not lost yet. I still see sin as sin, and am not comfortable in committing it, yet.

How To Lose Money As A Game Dev

Today I saw a headline that is not at all surprising, especially with the current agendas taking over the gaming industry. The headline basically stated that Capcom lost a significant portion of sales in 2024. I believe it was 50%. Capcom, like so many other Triple A developers has entered the propaganda phase of production, and in full force. Censoring their own games to appease a minority in an effort to push their message.

Instead of allowing and creating games that serve their established fanbase, or even both fanbases (individually) they double down on the alienating DEI fight against their original fanbase. Ripping from their products images and art that they feel appeals to the male gaze. If it is sexual in the slightest towards a hetero male perspective they alter and censor the game to fit current day LGBTQ+ standards. All in a hypocritical fashion.

Greed VS Gamers | Infinite Desire For The Finite

One of the biggest problems facing the gaming industry today is greed. Greed, as it were, comes in many forms. From overpricing to multi-layered monetization efforts, and microtransactions gamers' money is taken without a second thought. This alongside live service game oversaturation only serves to thin out the earnings of those who aim to exploit the paying player.

It is an unsustainable business model that will not only bleed dry the well of potential income for developers and publishers, but will also kill off gaming as we know it. The more gamers are abused through heavy handed greed the less gamers are going to be able to pick up the tab, and make game development a viable option for making money.
