Journal Of The Gamer | Meet Brad The Gamer!!!

As the title suggests my name is Brad. I'm a Gen X gamer with a deep history in gaming. I grew up during the Atari and NES age of gaming when arcades were still a thing. My first console was an Atari 2600, and my first game 'Yar's Revenge'. That, however, is not what sparked my interests in pursuing all things gaming ...

It wasn't until the holidays of the mid to late 80's that my grandmother bought me an my siblings our first NES console. A console shared between six siblings. We had had spent the prior summer sampling a cousin's NES trying our best to get past that first ditch in Super Mario Bros. It was the immersion, and experience of that game that made me want more, and from there I was hooked. Any console, and any game that was released I wanted. I managed to get some, but not all of the consoles, and have had massive collections of games over the years. Some of which were sold off for newer releases. A habit I regret to this day.

Fast forward to the here and now, and you'll find that I not only still play games at an older age, but that I review them regularly via my first blog, "OtakuDante's Gaming Inferno". It is this blog that helped me gain an insight on the industry, and see things from a business perspective. I've spent over 13 years doing reviews for various PR ranging from indies to AAA titles. It's been a privilege, and an honor to do so. It is, but one of many of the blessings I've gained from the hobby. Friends, and social media connections remain the highlight of this journey. I have met some amazing people who also love gaming as much as I do, and it is for them that I continue to review games.

Now that I've given you a brief introduction to who I am, and what I'm all about let me give you my mission statement for this blog. This blog will be a more personal read about my thoughts, and opinions of games, and the industry. That and the social drama that often surrounds it. I'll also be sharing gameplay moments, and thoughts on the latest games I play. Not a review as much as it will be a heart to heart discussion about the game itself. I hope you stick around, share my posts, and return often to see what's up in my life as a gamer. This is Brad signing out, I'll talk at you later!!!
