Ideological Takeover VS Coexistence

There's been a lot of people, a lot of gamers and none gamers, trying to justify or explain away their stance on what's happening to the gaming industry. No one's really, clearly, hit the nail on the head yet though. Even I've put my opinions and thoughts out there trying to explain this destructive phenomenon, but to no avail. It wasn't until yesterday while browsing Youtube that I happened upon a video where I was able to comment and articulate in a sentence or two exactly why we are facing the troubled times we are, and it all boils down to ideological takeover and coexistence.

Activists, and ideologues have always been about forcing their propaganda and ideals on everyone through whatever entertainment medium they infiltrate. It's never been about bringing something else to the table that would suit their own target audience. It's always been about taking over the hobbies, and using them as a platform to spread their message, replacing what was once there. They realize that in coexisting with their sworn enemy they'd still not win the argument, and so they seek a monopoly presence wherein DEI and LGBTQ+ initiatives are front and center, always. 

The counter argument from the opposite side where OG gamers exist was, and still is that we want gaming experiences that are escapism, not propaganda. We are glad to coexist with DEI and LGBTQ+ games, because we know that even if they did sell in an industry where everyone was able to get what they wanted it would not negatively effect us. The DEI crowd would get theirs, and we would get ours. That's how coexistence works, but as I mentioned earlier it's not what the activist crowd wants. They want to destroy anything gamer friendly, and outright replace it with their force fed sermons. 

As it stands reaching the middle ground of coexistence does not seem possible in light of all this, because the one party that could make it happen is hellbent on activism over experience. They want their skin deep identity politics as the prominent focus in all games. If this continues they will utterly destroy the industry that is currently catering to their whims. Either they opt to coexist, peacefully, or no one will ever benefit from gaming ever again. Not them, not the gamers, and not the studios.
