There's a lot of sh*t going on in this world in the month of March, in the year 2026. We're in WW3, there's the looming threat of terrorism on US soil, and EPIC Games, of all studios, decided to commit corporate suicide just as a new highly anticipated season of Fortnite was being hyped. They thought it was a good idea to nerf V-bucks battlepass earnings as well as increase the price of V-bucks bundles while simultaneously reducing the amount of V-bucks you actually pay for. Not only this, but there was no mention of reducing item shop skin, sidekicks, and pets bundles. This is an absolute slap in the face as it is not only based on fake financial claims that have been fact checked on X in the most brutal way, but it has been called out by sponsored personalities as well. It all points to one thing, and it ain't inflation. Greed is the drive behind these changes, and no matter how you cut it, it is the most unfriendly consumer monetization change ever to hit Fortnite.
While it's easy to nope off the Fortnite hype train under the pressure of increasing greed there are obviously bigger things going on, by comparison. WWIII, and the terror threat should be what everyone's focused on. That and the collapsing global financial situation brought on by the bombing of Iran, and the cutting off of the oil supply route there. Soon video games will be a thing of the past, especially if survival moves to the forefront of priority. Even so it cannot go unsaid that EPIC has failed epically. They are losing the good faith they had with paying players. FOMO is about to meet FAFO head on.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you not care? Are you done with Fortnite? Will you keep playing regardless of the cost increase? Let me know.
